SSOME THINGS IN LIFE – steak, booze and one-night trysts –
are so good because they’re so bad for you. This said, “healthy
cocktails” are a bit of an oxymoron. Sure, moderate red wine
consumption carries certain health benefits, but spirits, you can
be assured, are virtually nutrient free (which might help explain
those film noir hangovers). This is all to say that while you shouldn’t
be taken in by healthful hopes about the new “organic”
spirits, you should drink these fine products because they’re
delicious, handcrafted and good for the environment (if not for
your liver).
